In the quest to provide better and more affordable accommodation to students off campus, the KNUST administration has put in place measures to recommend some hostels for students.

In 2022, the prices of hostels went high and students began to complain. Some hostels were not up to standard but keep increasing their fees.
Due to this, the university authorities grouped the hostels according to classes.
The classes were based on Available Facilities, Utilities & Services provided.
The classes are ;
Class A
Class B1
Class B2
Class C1
Class C2
Students are urged to book accommodation in any of these hostels.
The average prices for these hostels range from GH₵ 3,500 to GH₵ 6,500.
The prices differ according to the classes and type of room.
Homestels
Probably you've heard this term somewhere or from someone but need to know what it actually is. Well, today is your lucky day.
A homestel (home + hostel) is basically a home or room within a house that is rented out to students seeking accommodation. If that wasn’t too clear, imagine yourself living in your house but this time with strangers. That is a graphical representation of a homestel. Homestel is a new term, I hope you keep abreast of what you've read.
Both hostels and homestels have the same kind of rooms.
