ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SONSOL PROJECT

The 'SONSOL Project' is part of the Vice-Chancellor's initiative to support underprivileged students by providing them with laptops to aid their pursuit of university education.



Eligibility For KNUST One Needy Student One Laptop Project

 1. Applicants must be brilliant but needy Ghanaian undergraduate students in KNUST, including those from IDL and Obuasi Campus and from all colleges.

2. For newly admitted students (First Year), a maximum WASSCE aggregate of 15 is required.

3. Students who are already benefiting from scholarships from Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, GNPC, Tullow, MTN Foundation, Vodafone, EPI, Edu-Fundazione, GET-Fund, MP Common Fund, District Assembly Support, or any other scholarship or bursary above GHC 2,000.00 are NOT eligible to apply.

4. The support is for First (1st) Year Undergraduate students only. Postgraduates are not eligible

REQUIREMENTS

1. Proof of Need: Write a brief statement explaining why you need a laptop to pursue your university education. Provide any relevant details such as your financial situation, challenges accessing technology, or any other relevant information.

2. Admission Letter: A copy of your admission letter from the university you are attending.

3. Acceptance Letter: A copy of your acceptance letter from the university you are attending.

Awards and Certificates for involvement in extra-curricular activity (if any): Provide any awards or certificates you have received for your participation in extra-curricular activities, such as sports, music, or volunteer work.


NOTICE:

  1. All documents must be in a sealed envelope with the Applicant’s Name, Programme, Year, Reference Number and phone number boldly written on it.
  2. Submission of documents should be made at the Student Affairs and Financial Services (Room 19) at the Dean of Students Office, J Harper Building.
  3. Any write-up should be typed in the font Times New Roman, size 12 and double-spaced.
  4. No Application will be accepted after the deadline.
  5. Only shortlisted applicants will be called for an interview.

Spacing is the space between words.

It's different from letter spacing and sentence spacing.

Almost all scholarships require similar documents. To save you the stress, make copies of all documents you do for future use.
