According to the Auditor General's Report, out of the 360 programs pursued in KNUST, only 61 have been accredited, 190 sent to National Accreditation Board [NAB] for accreditation and reaccreditation with 109 yet to be sent for accreditation.
As per the reports, UG requires a re-accreditation of its advertised 374 academic programmes. This is due to the fact that the programs have expired.
The following are the recommendations for both institutions.
KNUST
The Auditor-General recommends that the Management of KNUST should, “cease running programmes that are not accredited or having its accredited certificates expired, until they are accredited or renewed, to avoid sanctions by NAB.”
UG
The Auditor-General recommends that Management should "expedite action" for accreditation and re-accreditation of all new and expired academic programmes respectively. Again, Management should liaise with GTEC to take retrospective accreditations to cover all the non-accredited certificates issued to students.
